Sponge Cola's high-energy and extremely talented lead vocalist/writer - Yael Yuzon, had an early celebration for his 31st birthday last Wednesday night at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Bar! But this was no ordinary birthday celebration. It was a night of intimate jamming with some of his most loyal fans, as well as his closest friends in and out of the music industry, which made the occasion an extraordinary one!
Opening up the celebration was one of Yael's good friends, Paolo Valenciano, who gave us an amazing medley of some of his original songs and covers!
Prizes were also given out to the fans of Yael and Sponge Cola present that night for answering trivia questions about the birthday boy!
Afterwards, Sponge Cola then appeared, with of course - Yael, ready to celebrate with everyone! Yael shared that for some odd reason, he was feeling nervous that night. Maybe because he said that he's not used to the whole "birthday speeches," but those nerves immediately faded away as they began to perform for everyone present to jam with them on his special day!
The night wouldn't have been complete without a special duet featuring Yael's wife - Karylle! She went up on stage with the band and gave an amazing on-the-spot performance for everyone!
The night was then ended with song requests, a short song by Yael's sister Ysabel and a last number by Sponge Cola! Other artists spotted that night to join the celebration was Jhong Hilario, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Sam Concepcion and Robin Nievera! It was evident that Yael Yuzon, Sponge Cola and everybody came out and celebrated his 31st birthday with him! He had a blast meeting his fans, spending the night jamming with everyone and looks forward to doing it again in the future!
