Taylor Swift has been honored as DoSomething.org's most charitable celebrity in 2013 and to living up to her title, she made an 8 year-old who had been suffering from Leukemia very happy.
Laney Brown, an 8 year-old suffering from Leukemia, included speaking with Taylor Swift in her bucket list. Brown received a surprise call from Taylor Swift via Facetime on her eighth birthday.
A post on Laney's official Facebook page shared that "Laney was so nervous to talk to her because she is such a 'famous celebrity.' I was actually worried that when Taylor Facetimed her that she would be too scared to talk but Taylor was fabulous!! She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face. I can't thank Taylor enough for taking time out from her family to make Laney's birthday very memorable. We will hold that memory in our hearts forever."
The call was made possible by Make-A-Wish Foundation. On Christmas day, just five days after the call, the young fan passed away. In her little way, Taylor Swift was able to make a difference in Laney's life.
