Let's zero in on Pupil's most sophisticated release to date, Zilch! It's already their fourth full-length album but has several firsts for the band!
For starters, it is Pupil's first album with MCA Music! Their stripped-down and in-your-face sound remains evident in their first two singles "Why" and "Out Of Control" which is nominated as Favorite Rock Video in the upcoming MYX Music Awards!
Frontman Ely Buendia revealed the whole thing was actually a D.I.Y. recording! Wendell Garcia's drum parts, for example, were done almost entirely at a rented photography studio! Plus they have a new guitarist Jerome Velasco who was in The Mongols with Ely! He was the key to the revamped operation of Pupil and their new album!
