In accordance to President Noynoy Aquino's Proclamation No. 933 declaring the last week of July of every year as "Linggo Ng Musikang Pilipino", OPM artists will lead the inaugural celebration from July 25 to 31!
The planned celebration of the already thriving local music industry is the collaborative effort of Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) along with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). It aims to advance Filipino art and culture and contribute to the progress of the economy by supporting local industries associated with homegrown music.
According to OPM President Ogie Alcasid and officers Dingdong Avanzado and Noel Cabangon, Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino 2015 will have a series of programs to elevate the voices of Filipino talents.
There will be street performances, OPM marathon in leading malls, restaurants, bars, and radio stations, plus the #PalakasinAngBosesNgOPM sessions. It will culminate with a grand concert at the Ayala Triangle Gardens on July 31!
A 3K/5K/10K run is also happening at the U.P. Diliman Academic Oval on July 19 to raise more awareness on this campaign!
Let's help promote and patronize Filipino music by taking part in the forthcoming celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino!
