This YouTube video went viral in Japan recently, and it's easy to see why.
The young girl carrying a large instrument has incredible talent! She has in her hands what is called the sheng (or shou in Japanese), it is a Chinese musical instrument that dates back to 1,000 BC and this instrument can perfectly replicate the distinct 8-bit sound effects and background music of the original Super Mario Brothers.
The sheng is actually a series of bamboo flutes arranged over a pipe organ over a single mouthpiece. And there may a be a bit of a difference from how she played it with original version of the Super Mario Bros. theme, still we can really say that this is really impressive display of what ancient instruments can do!
