You may have found yourself singing over and over again to their song "Rude" after hearing it on the radio, or watching the music video here on MYX. Now this is your chance to get to know the band behind that catchy tune -- MAGIC!
During a MYXclusive phone interview, we got the opportunity to talk to MAGIC!'s front man Nasri Atweh - an award-winning songwriter and producer who has worked with some of today's biggest pop stars including Chris Brown, David Guetta, Christina Aguilera, Pitbull, Shakira and Justin Bieber.
According to Nasri, the band started when he met Mark Pelli (guitars) in a session and became really good friends. "There was a chemistry there that was different than working with other people. I knew that it was something I had to follow, then we decided to start a band together and here we are now," he shared.
Nasri also said that MAGIC! consider themselves as a pop band who loves to infuse reggae and soul into their music. They consider No Doubt, Bob Marley and The Police as some of their biggest influences in music.
The band's single, "Rude," is a song that will get stuck on your head for the rest of the day. Nasri shared that the song is "about a guy who can't get the girl's father to give him the blessing to marry her. So he just keeps going back and he keeps getting rejected."
The music video for the song, as of writing, has more than 5.2 million views on YouTube. When asked about what he feels about the positive reception from the fans to their music, Nasri said: "It's the best part of everything. I love making music. The fans are what's gonna keep us connected and inspired."

This coming May, Nasri revealed that the band is coming out with an album! "There are 12 songs in the album and a lot of it's about my lovelife and other fun stuff. There's definitely a lot of reggae, pop, rock and soul flavors. You're gonna get a lot of catchy stuff just like our single 'Rude," he said. This will surely be something to look forward to!
